THE OCEAN ROAD: Adelaide till Melbourne by the coast

THE OCEAN ROAD
The Ocean Road was the only road joining Mount Gambier to Adelaide. The cattle drivers, and good sellers took it. Also it is the first place where petrol was found. And the salt and minerals from the salt lakes along the sea were used for the cattle, as the fields around missed minerals.
The Great Ocean Road, from Mount Gambier till Melbourne, along the coast, was built to employ the soldiers returning from the first world war, and then to fight the big depression.
The other big way was the Murray River, from Gwoola and Victor Harbor till Canberra and then by Darling River or by the road till Sydney. A lot of materials were shipping by steam boats. Infortunatly, I didn't have time to follow it.
