Oman 7 Snake Canyon till Ar Rustaq

22/12 Snake Canyon till Ar Rustaq and a bit more 56 km

Next morning I do the last climb, and at the cross I take the short one on right. The road goes down easy now, more large, by a good gravel. Well I still get 2 very steep downhills I have to walk and a short uphill I have to push. I get like that 13 km of gravel, and 12 km more of asfalt to arrive at the main road to Ar Rustaq, and 12 km of main road to join the bridge and the fort.

First the road follows Snake Canyon lane, and suddenly goes till a village with a large palm trees garden. Then the road follows a river in a very narrow Valley, between 2 walls. A lot of times it is a canyon, the walls are vertical. Only at the end the valley opens to join the main roaad. The main road is boring, in a large flat Valley with nothing apart houses, light traffic, and heat.

At the bridge I turn left to the fort, which is 2 km further. The fort is a big tower with 2 other towers neibourg, a lot of steps and little rooms. I make some shopping then.

Then I go back to the bridge I cross the river and continue straight. Big traffic this road goes to the main city in fact. I don't enter in the city I turn on left in the entrance, way to Ibri, road 10. The road continue 4 lanes with big traffic and houses along each side and heat for 15 km about. I suppose I am passing Ghafdi. It suddenly stops, becomes a 2 lanes road, and no more houses, crosses a river, just before a little climb. I get enought, I see a tree a little away from the road, I go there and camp. I am hidden from the road. It would be a noisy night.
